Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in Los Angeles, California’s San Fernando Valley region. About 70% of the studio is located on an unincorporated county island called Universal City, while the rest is located within the city limits of Los Angeles, California. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use. Its official marketing title is “The Entertainment Capital of LA.” Originally designed to offer tours in authentic Universal Studios sets, this is the first of many full-scale Universal Studios theme parks located around the world. Outside the theme park, near the Universal Pictures backdrop, a new all-digital facility was built to consolidate all of NBCUniversal’s West Coast operations into one area. As a result, the current home of the Los Angeles bureaus of KNBC, KVEA and NBC News and Noticias Telemundo is located in a new digital facility on the Universal property that previously housed Technicolor SA. Universal City includes the Universal Hilton and Towers hotels, the Sheraton Universal Hotel and Universal CityWalk, which offers a collection of shops, restaurants, an 18-screen Universal Cinema and a seven-story IMAX theater.

In 2017, the park had 9.056 million guests, ranking 15th in the world and 9th in North America. Universal Studios Hollywood is divided into two areas on different levels, connected by a series of escalators called the Starway. These regions are known as the top and bottom. Opening in 2021, Universal Studios Hollywood will include ten rides, seven shows and two playgrounds. Each plot has a collection of attractions, shows and attractions, as well as food, drinks and goods. Upper Lot consists of several family-oriented attractions. The Upper Lot is themed around the Mission Revival entrance known as Universal Boulevard and features the large Universal Plaza, which opened in 2013. There are not so much themed lands as small environments that share a common Art Deco theme that reflects old Hollywood glamour. Universal Boulevard is home to Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular and the DreamWorks Theatre, the latter currently the main venue for Motiongate Dubai’s Kung Fu Panda: Unstoppable Awesomeness Kung Fu Panda Adventure. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter had a soft opening on February 12, 2016 and officially opened on April 7, 2016. It is the largest theme area in the Upper Lot and hosts the animatronic and screen-based thrill ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden City which is located in a replica of Hogwarts Castle and has actual props from the movies in the series. Don’t forget to check out this place in Los Angeles too.

Additionally, the area includes the family-friendly Flight of the Hippogriff roller coaster and the interactive Ollivander’s Wand Show, where a wand captures a witch or wizard. There will be two live performances on the outdoor stage, the Frog Choir and the Triwizard Spirit Rally. In addition to the attractions, the theme area has several shops, a Hogwarts express train scene, The Three Broomsticks restaurant and various outdoor trucks selling food and drinks. The area also sells souvenirs and food based on the books and movies. The lower lot is the smaller of the two lots. This section of the park has four rides, each with height restrictions. It includes Jurassic World: The Ride, Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and Transformers: The Ride 3D Jurassic World: The Ride is a water adventure ride that takes guests through the events of Jurassic World, ending with an 84-foot (25.6 m) drop. Outside of the rides are Raptor Encounter, an all-day show, and Dino Play, a jungle gym for kids too young to ride. Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride is a high-speed indoor roller coaster that takes guests through moments reminiscent of the 1999 Mummy franchise. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is an interactive dark ride with augmented reality technology based on the Mario Kart franchise in Super Nintendo World. Transformers: The Ride 3D uses advanced technology to simulate the battle between Autobots and Decepticons on 4K 3D screens and flight simulators. The Lower Lot also has several gift shops and quick service restaurants. Universal Studios Hollywood is easily accessible by public transportation from Universal City/Studio City. The Metro B Line subway train runs between Union Station, Westlake, Koreatown, East Hollywood, and Hollywood in downtown Los Angeles. Passengers can also reach the theme park entrance via several Metrobus lines. Local subway lines 150, 155, 224 and 240 stop at Lankershim Blvd and Universal Center Drive (front door). Metro Local line 165 and Metro Shuttle line 656 Owl stop past the entrance at Ventura and Lankershim avenues.
